Where my Peeps at?

OMGoodness when I saw this image from Tracey over at The Stamping Boutique I jumped for joy!  I have something I need to admit to you all "Hi my name is Christy and I am a PEEPS addict!" LOL!!!  Yes, that's right I love these sweet little marshmallows and have as long as I can remember.  As a child we would always get 4 boxes of peeps in all their beautiful colors and 2 Cadbury cream eggs (which I hated).  So I would trade my sister my 2 Cadbury eggs for her 4 boxes of PEEPS- I know great trade right!

Well since going through my weight loss I have steered clear of these yummy delights 'cause I can eat them by the box. This card is the perfect birthday card I am giving myself as my birthday is on April Fool's Day and  I am running my 1st 1/2 marathon Saturday, so no peeps for me!  However I couldn't resist coloring up this image called Easter Cupcake for the challenge this week at Cooking It Up With Katie
Our challenge this week is
"Start with Sparkle, Add some Shine, & Finish with a Shimmer!!"

For my card I knew I was going to use bright colors and my NEW peeps paper pack that my friend Kim got me due to my addiction!  Yes it's full of peeps embellies. stickers, and fun papers covered with my marshmallow friends.  I have colored everything with Copics and then to add my sparkle I grabbed my Ranger Holographic embossing powder to make everything shine! The cupcake wrapper I paper pieced with a minty green scrap of paper that had embossed sparkly polka dots, but since I didn't care for color I added some Copics to it to make it pop.  I added a few bling and used my black Spica to add sparkle to some of lines and little doodles. The sentimet is also from The Stamping Boutique and is from the new set called Birthday set.

We are sponsored this week by Pizzazza Plenty and here is a little about their store: Pizzazz Aplenty began with only a bit of bling and some ribbon, but over the past few months, we've added so much more. . . from cardstock to cellophane bags, as well as a variety of embellishments for your cardmaking or scrapbooking projects. , , charms, stick pins, brads, buttons, cords, twines, laces, lots of ribbon, and over 20 choices of colors in our flatback pearls and rhinestones. In the next couple of weeks, teardrop pearls will be a new addition, and button stick pins with 4 buttonholes!  Remember, there's no such thing, as too much bling!  Judy Bennett.

The prize is a fabulous Prize Pack of rhinestones, pearls and other sparkly goodies valued at $10! Come on over and join the challenge and see what rest of team has created at Cooking It Up With Katie!

Shannon's Sentimenst #19-Spring Colors

It's challenge time again at Shannon's Sentiments and Michelle is our hostess this week with a fun color challenge.  We want to see those projects using yellow, pink, & green- what a great color combo!

I have been just itching to use this cute lil' chick and sentiment from the Easter Time set and this challenge gave me the perfect opportunity.  I immediately grabbed that sparkly fluff for my lil' chick. I printed my image twice, so  I could pop up his wing for added dimension. I added some fun embossing using one of my Cuttlebug folders, papers are from 6x6 Bazzill stack I got at Archiver's, and  pearls are from $1 section at Michael's.  I inked the edges of my sentiment and embossed papers with CTMH tulip ink and then added a little ribbon bow.

EXCITING NEWS and Challenge Masters Chopped Contest Rounds #1 & #2

Have you heard of Challenge Masters?
I just recently found them, they are a wonderful site that hosts challenges on Sundays.  I noticed they were having a design team call, so I through my hat in the ring.  Guess what I was selected as a Challenge Masters Diva and will be hosting "Scrapping with Boys" challenges on 2nd Sundays of month.  Be on the lookout as my 1st challenge will be on April 10th and my challenges will be all about those boys/men in our lives!

Well I wanted to get involved and start getting to know my way around on forum, so I jumped in head first to a challenge/contest.  Have you ever seen the show Chopped?  Well if not they have chefs and they compete in appetizer, main dish, dessert rounds using a basket of ingredients.  So the contest if along the same lines and we are given a list of "ingredients" to use.

Well I survived round one with this layout of my sweet Lucas wearing the new hat that grandma knitted for him.  Our challenge was to use "lime green, circles, and paint." So I started rummaging through my papers and found this patterned that had lime green in it and matched with some blues.  With some help from my scrappin' friends (thanks Kim S.) we decided on Simple Contrast layout on page 28 of CTMH Cherish Idea Book. For the painting part, I used a dark blue to paint the edges of all the white pieces as well as patterned paper.  You can see I have the circles covered, including some added circles embossed on blue paper on right side and I embossed the left side with distressed strips. Then I took the embossed pieces and distressed them by sanding to show white core.
I am entering this layout in following challenges:

Now for round 2 our challenge was to use "yellow, scallops, and dimensional flowers.  What a dilemma as yellow is one of colors I have a limited supply of paper for.  This time I turned to my CTMH Magic Idea book and went with page 29 and layout called "backstage."  This is my niece Mya, isn't she the cutest? OK back to the challenge, the yellow scalloped circle is embossed with polka dots and then edges are inked with CTMH Creme Brulee ink. The patterned blue is from CTMH Miracle paper pack and inked with CTMH Crystal Blue and then I used my Stampin' Up border punch.
Now for the fun part, I made my flowers using my Stampin' Up scalloped circle punches (thanks Arielle for showing this to us at card swap).  To create these first you punch 4 circles, fold them in 1/2 and then 1/2 again.  Now what I did was ink the edges and then punched a 5th circle to mount them on. For the centers, I used my Die-Namics mini rose die.  The yellow paper was already embossed wit polka dots, so for my blue flower I ran it through Cuttlebug using Swiss Dots folder.  Some pearls from $1 section at Micheal's for center and ribbon for stems.

Cross your fingers that make it to the nest round!

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Catered Crop- use any of listed ingredients (recipe: pp ( mini print- blue pp/yellow-polka dots), colors- blue, embellies- flowers/ribbon/pearls, tools-border punch/scalloped punch/die cut-mini rose & Cricut, theme- spring/childhood (spring colors & flowers + pic of my niece), shapes-circles/scallops
Cupcake Inspirations- see photo (inspired by yellow & flowers)
Gingerloft- die cuts or punches
Paper Sundaes- embossing

Crafty Ho's Challenge

Here is another quick card using scraps from my stash!  This one is for the challenge over at Crafty Ho's which is a sketch this week!  Stamp is one of those $1 Studio G's from Michael's and papers are from DCWV School Stack.

ABC Christmas Challenge

Isn't this little bear the cutest?  I made this card for the challenge at ABC Christmas Challenge, this week the letter is " F" for freebie (bear image) and we had to use a sketch too.  I grabbed my scraps from CTMH Jingle pack and matching cardstock/ink in Tulip & Juniper.  Image is colored with Copics and I added a little white sparkly fluff to his hat.  I paper pieced the box the little bear is sitting in too!

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Corrosive Challenge- 3 papers, 2 ribbons, 1 image (ribbon on image and I added a ribbon)

Card Positioning Systems

I'm trying to use up all these scraps I have piling up and found the sketch at
Card Positioning Systems to whip out a quick, fun card.  Papers are My Mind's Eye which I have inked edges with CTMH Crystal Blue ink.  The sentiment and peace sign are from the March release set called Peace, Love, and Stamping over at Shannon's Sentiments. I added the peace sign to the center of the o and it with Copic BG09 and then added some Smooch to it to make it shine.  Distressed the edges of the sentiment and added a few brads to complete!

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Card Positioning Systems-sketch (I rotated it on side)

Kaboodle Doodles Challenge #59-Color Challenge

It's Monday which mean another fun challenge at Kaboodle Doodles
and this week it's all about those pretty spring colors.
We are once again sponsored by wink*wink*ink and one lucky winner will receive $15 credit at their shop!

I am trying to use up some of the fabulous papers in my stash before buying new ones and this had all the colors I wanted.  I know they are a little brighter than color pallet shown, but still works!  What I did was paper piece my image- first I printed the cupcake/cherry image on CTMH Colonial white cardstock and I printed the cupcake again on scrap of blue. Then I cute and pasted my wrapper, cherry is colored with Copic R27.  I got my card idea from the CTMH Orignals book and altered slightly because I like lots of layers. I ran the 2 white squares through my Cuttlebug using the Happy birthday folder.  Everything is inked with CTMH cocoa ink and the brad is also from CTMH. I also went over all the lines with my black Spica.

Hurry out to check out rest of projects from the team here!

Shannon's Sentiments-Unusual Fold Challenge

I very excited as today I am hosting my 1st challenge as the March guest designer at Shannon's Sentiments and boy do I have a fun one for you!  I typically just make either regular A4 size or 6 x6 cards, however I am always intrigued by the many fancy folded cards I see. So this week I challenge you to incorporate an unusual fold on our card. Yes that's right I want you to step out the your comfort zone and try something new - make a project using a fold that is new to you or that you rarely ever use.

Last weekend I was at a scrappin' retreat with my fave local gals and we did a card swap.  My friend Darla came up with this pretty card and when I asked where she got directions she indicated she got them out of a book somewhere.  Well I LOVED the final result so I grabbed my ruler and measured everything out to be able to re-create the card for this challenge.

For my card I grabbed this CTMH paper pack called along with my coordinating inks and cardstock in Juniper, Creme Brulee, and Sorbet.  I inked all my papers using the ink that matched cardstock.  My base is 4 1/2 x 11 and is scored at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2, my layers are cut as follows:

Creme Brulee (yellow/orange) layer- 2 1/2 x 4 1/4 for left/inside panel and 4 1/4 x 5 1/4 for larger panel.

Sorbet (peachy color) layer- 2 1/4 x 4 for left/inside layer and 4 x 5 for larger panel.

Patterned paper- 2 x 3 3/4 for left panel only and 3 3/4 x 4 3/4 for larger panel.

I chose a wonderful sentiment from the Spring Time set, which you can pick up in the store for $5 and it has all these wonderful images.  I also used the flowers in the set, but only wanted to tops to add to my card. I printed the image out 3 times on Sorbet cardstock and then cut them out.  Then I inked the edges of flowers, grabbed my black Spica pen for a little sparkle, and some CTMH pearls for centers of flowers. Added a little matching Juniper ribbon after puches slots with my ribbon punch!

Head on over to Shannon's Sentiments to join the challenge and see rest of AMAZING projects from rest of team.  Also check out the Design Team call here, the store is growing and looking for more talented designers so come throw your hat in the ring!  Also Shannon's Sentiments is sponsoring the challenge over at Aly's Sunday Challenge and the theme is spring, so am entering my card there too!

I used the color pallet for the challenge at Crafty Chicks and sketch is from Creations by Gill M.  I used my Sizzix embossing folder to create fun background, pink paper is from the CTMH jingle paper pack, CTMH  buttons, and pearls are from $1 section at Micheal's.

We were provided with the most adorable images to work with, the hardest part was decided what to use!

The ingredients this week for challenge are:
Start with an Easter theme, Add a little Green, & Make sure it is Cute!

Do you feel Lucky? I know I feel like one "Lucky Lady" when I look at these pics of my wonderful hubby and 2 amazing boys!

I wanted to make a special layout for these pics so I grabbed my CTMH idea books to pick out the perfect layout.  For page one, I grabbed these green papers and inked the edges using CTMH New England Ivy.  Letters are cut using Lyrical Letters and the Cricut. I found these fun little shamrock bling in my stash.

This is page two and I added this fun digital image from The Stamping Boutique called Horseshoe which is colored with Copics (E00, G14/19, Y15/17/21, C5/C7. YR04/07, B24/29, R27/59, 100, blender).  I used a gold gel pen to add some sparkle to the horseshoe and gold. The image was cut out using my scalloped Nesties. The scallop along bottom of layout is cut using Accent Essentials and the Cricut.

Life is Lived.....

I am having so much fun playing with the new releases from Shannon's Sentiments and this wonderful saying is from the Peace, Love, and Stamping set. I decided to use the sketch over at The Pixie Cottage and the color challenge over at The Color Dare- Basic Grey, Cherry Cobbler, and Marina Mist.  Well since I don't have those colors, I raided my paper stash to come up with something close.  The polka dotted paper is from CTMH jingle paper pack, the red strip I embossed is CTMH tulip, and the pearls are also CTMH.  I am loving my new die from Die-Namics that makes this cute lil' flowers so you will probably be seeing lots of these!

Did you all get in on the first challenge here at The Stamping Boutique?  Well if not get ready for round number 2 and with St. PAtrick's Day arounf the corner what would be more fitting than to
" Use the color green" in your project as well as sketch provided.
For my card I decided to work with a new image in the store called
Emo Princess Penelope and her frog by Kalie Malnofski, daughter of our fearless leader Tracey Manofski. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree does it? Kalie is one very talented lady and be sure to check out the store for more images from her line coming soon!

This image was so dun to work with, since I have boys I don't get work much with girl images but I couldn't resist working with Princess Penelope!  She is colored with Copics of course and then I added some glossy accents to her lil' companion's eyeballs. Don't you just love that green paper? It came from one of the Storyteller's Club kits I receive monthly.  The pink is yummy CTMH Exclusive paper and then I embossed with my Sizzix folder.  Ribbon & slide as well as sentiment are all courtesy of CTMH products, metal frame/buttons/brads/pins are all from my stash.

Now hurry on over to The Stamping Boutique Challenge Blog to see what rest of team has created and join the challenge.  We would love to see your projects and remember if you create a scrapbook page you are entered twice in drawing for FREE images.  Also if yous use a TSB image, you can enter your project in the monthly contest also.

ABC Christmas Challenge

The Stamping Boutique sponsored the challenge over ABC Christmas Challenge
at the beginning of month and I was unable to get a sample made to share.
The challenge is "Embossing and 3 Embellishments." However I had this fun acrylic album that I made that needed a few little embellies to make complete and so I made it fit into this challenge.
I already had done the embossing using the Cuttlebug ornaments folder as well as the small little Christmas tree folder in the scalloped circles on each page.  This was a acrylic album class that I took from my good friend Sue Masoner, who is a CTMH consultant and you can order the products I used from her site here.  I used the Jingle paper pack and inked everything with Cocoa ink. Added some ribbon and buttons and finally project complete-WOO HOO!  I plan on sending this to a special friend, hope she likes it!

Here is a slideshow of the complete album.

For my project, I decided to make something a little bit different and fun!  This is a money purse and I got the directions from CTMH Originals Card Confidence Book located on page 69.  I also grabbed this wonderful stamp set called "Key to My Heart" which is from Close to My Heart.  Patterned paper is from one of many kits I have received from Storyteller's Club, all other papers are from CTMH's Exclusive Paper Line.  I used CTMH Chocolate ink to ink edges of everything as well as stamp with.

That fun tag is part of the new "Colored Vintage Tags" and I thought would be perfect to write the recipient's name and addres or maybe a special message on.  It's attached using brads.  For the inside I created this cute card once againg using the "Key to My Heart" stamp set.

More inspiration from our design team to get your creative juices flowing for this challenge.

Digi Day at PaperCraft Planet Challenge

If you missed it The Stamping Boutique held a Digi Day on Saturday.  Along with the chatting there were some fun challenges, with prizes up for grabs and you have until Monday, March 14th to get your projects entered here: Challenge #3.  This is an inspiration challenge....let the picture below inspire you...let it be the colors, the background, image itself, let it be how it makes you feel....doesn't matter to me...I just want to see how you took the image!!! (For copyright purposes, photo came from here.)

For my card I chose to work with She Who Paints the Forest from the Enchantment line.  My fave color is RED and when I look at this pic that is what I see, lots of pretty red flowers.  So I grabbed my Copics (E00/E31/E35/E37/RV000/R81/R29/R59/G14/G19) and then I added some sparkle to those wings!  Cardstock is Bazzill and the green polka dotted is from one of my monthly Storyteller's club kits.  I inked all the edges using CTMH New England Ivy ink

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
