Special 9/11 Blog Hop-Never Forget!

Welcome to our special 9/11 Blog Hop with The Stamping Boutique we are honouring those that are fighting the war after the affects of 9/11. If you have come here from Collette's Blog you are on the right track!

Operation Write Home collects cards made by stampers/cardmakers from all over the world, these cards are used by the troops to send home to their friends and loved ones. This is a cause very near and dear to my heart, as I was involved in a similar project through the Cricut MB called Cards for Soldiers. I was a shipper for several years for the Central time zone until recently until my life just got too busy. The cards and letters received from those that I sent packages to on behalf of the team of men/women that sent cards to me was overwhelming, it's amazing how something so simple that we all take for granted can help our troops and put smiles on their faces. I always got these tremendous thank you's for sending cards, when we should be the one thanking them for all they do1 It's really does help boost moral, so please think about sending those cards to someone that can use them and would definitely appreciate your efforts!

For my card today I chose to work with the ribbon image, which you can grab over at TSB Challenge Blog. I colored the image with copis and found this paper in my stash, cardstock is CTMH. The black stars are bling that I got at Michael's and I wrote Never Forget on the ribbon. On the inside of my card, I printed this poem on vellum that I found here.

How about a little candy? Leave me a comment and I will randomly pick someone to win 3 digi images from The Stamping Boutique! Now head on over to Debbie's Blog to see her wonderful project!

A little helper....

Well I sat down to color tonight and had a little helper, my 5 yo Lucas who just started Kindergarten thought I needed some assistance. So he was picking out my Copic marker choices while hopping up and down on the bed (hence the not so perfect coloring) and that meant digging through my stash to find colors to match aome of these colors I don't typically use. These super cute images are from Chicken Girl Designs, which are exclusively sold at i (heart) papers store. Make sure to check back tomorrow as it's new release day at Chicken Girl Designs and the new images are adorable!

A quick little project!

I recruited the help of my 5 yo to help me make this quick little project. Lucas is going to Kindergarten in a couple weeks and we got him his 1st library card recently! He much like his older brother loves the Junie B. Jones book, so I decided to make this cute lil' bookmark so we can mark our place! I thought it would be cute to make a little comp book too that we can write down books he has read or reading minutes, as well as books we want to read. These images from Chicken Girl Designs were perfect! Don't forget tomorrow is new release day at CGD, which are sold exclusively to i (heart) papers store!

Sizzlin' Good Time

Summer is definitely here and it's hot, hot hot! So why not grab this super cute image from Chicken Girl Designs that is exclusive to i (heart) papers store for all those BBQ invites! I found this paper that went perfect with this image in my stash, which I think is from DCWV stack. I did this card for the SCS Show us What You Got Challenge- which was to use something still in package (mine is not recent, but thought it worked).

Thinking of You

Well with baseball season winding down, I have been getting a little more play time with my Copics who are feeling neglected-poor things, LOL!!! So reached into my huge piles of scraps and whipped us this cute little card. The image is another fabulous image from Chicken Girl Design which are exclusive to i(heart) papers store and it can be found here. Colored of course with my Copics, sentiment is from one of those $1 Studio G sets I love, papers are from, and a few little brads from my stash.

Now who should I send this lil' cutie too? Don't forget tomorrow is new release at Chicken Girl Designs and your won't want to miss these cuties!

Some exciting news......

This weekend I watched my 14 yo old, Micah and the rest of his team coached by my hubby play in the State baseball tournament. They played some great baseball this weekend and ended up finishing 3rd and we are so proud of them! What a great Father's Day gift to all our baseball dads!

I am especially proud of Micah, he pitched AMAZING to help get his team into the semi-final game. We had 7 strikeouts, 0 walks, and only 2 hits- which if you aren't a baseball person these are great stats!

Now my little guy starts his end of season tournament tomorrow and has his State tournament this next weekend! He is the one all the wy on right in front with cheesy smile-LOL!!!

Look for new projects from me using images from Chicken Girl Designs, The Stamping Boutique, and Squigglefly this week starting tomorrow!

Hugs,
Christy

New Release Day at Chicken Girl Designs!

Today is release day at Chicken Girl Designs and boy are these some great images! Are you looking for the perfect Father's Day image or how about that summer BBQ? Need to send a card to let someone know you are thinking of them or Congratulate someone on their new home. Then this new release is just for you and you can only pick them up at i (heart) papers store.

First I decided to work with Sizzling Good Time, is this not the cutest? I decided to work with the sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I found the perfect paper in my stash, I believe it's from one of those DCWV stacks. I cut the red using my QuicKutz die, but you could use Labels 8 Nestabilities to get same shape. I colored my image with Copics of course and added a few brads and little ribbon to complete.

For my 2nd card, I chose to work with World's Greatest Dad image. I again used a sketch courtesy of Sketch and Stash Challenge blog for 1st part of challenge, second part is to use something new which is my CGD image of course! Once again I colored image with Copics, added a little ribbon and bling from my stash however you can pick up some blinghere. I also used one of my embossing folders, check out the variety of embossing folders available at IHP here.

Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe Challenge #33

It's Friday and that bring another fun recipe challenge from Crafts 4 Eternity. For today's challenge we were to use the sketch, shades of blue, and some beads. I used this adorable new digi elephant from C4E, I printed it first on a scrap of blue paper and then colored it with my copics. I then colored his toes with my white gel pen. All papers are from my scrap stash, I used my QuicKutz die to cut the top note and inked edges with CTMH Outdoor Denim. Sentiment is from one of my $1 Studio G sets and of course punches with my fave Stampin' Up punches. Now I didn't have any beads specifically, so I used these little adhesive pearls from CTMH.

Make sure to join the challenge and check out rest of DT projects over at Crafts 4 Eternity.

Sketchbook Wednesday

Today is sketchbook Wednesday at The Shack again and we have another fun sketch to play with. Have you grabbed your Manic Monday freebie image yet? Well if you haven't make sure to head over and pick it up here before it's gone. Isn't he just the cutest, the image was drawn by our very own DT Diva Marlene and this is her debut image.

I colored Mr. Fat Boy-ardee with my copics and added these button brads I have had in my stash. Gingham paper and ribbon are scraps from my stash and used my QuicKutz dies for scalloped rectangle mat as well as my SU punches for ovals. A little doodled stitching with my copic multi-liner and Presto a cute card that would work for a picnic, dinner invite, or even a Pampered chef party.

Further, you must have a working knowledge of blogging software and understand the basic principles of inserting links, adding photos, etc.

What do DT members get as part of being on the team?

Once selected as part of the DT you will receive 3 images of your choice to create with to announce your position on the team. Once I see that these three images are used you may choose 3 more and so on. I’ve found that if I freely give out images then they are not being used to showcase TDS. This isn’t just about getting free images, your position on the DT is to showcase and promote The Digi Shack. As long as you are creating with our images and showcasing them, you will receive all of your requested images. Please remember that this is a serious commitment and I expect that you treat it as such if you are chosen. Please do not apply if you can not commit.

Monthly we will be releasing new images and you will automatically be sent those images before the release date so that you can sneak peek those new arrivals. Those new releases do not count towards your images of choice.
If you think you have what it takes to be a Shack Sistah email your application with DESIGN TEAM in the subject line by May 15, 2010 – Any applications with anything more or less than DESIGN TEAM in the subject line will be disqualified.

Good luck!

Are you ready for the new releases from Chicken Girl Designs tomorrow? Remember they are exclusivo to the i (heart) papers store which can be found here. So in honor of the new release tomorow I had to sneak in one last project with Happy Spring as finally I am seeing signs of spring as my tulips are blooming!

I grabbed a pillow box that I have had laying around forever and added a little patterned paper. For the SCS challenge yesterday was to put something on an angle. I colored my image using copics and then added a little Fuzzy Flock to the nose and ears of my critter.

Make sure to come back tomorrow to see the newest images!
