Kaboodle Doodles-Here Comes The Bride

This week the team is celebrating the upcoming royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on April 29. Our sponsor for this challenge is The Crafty Pad Designs and the winner will receive two images of their choice from The Crafty Pad Designs store.

I don't make wedding cards ever, so I dug deep into my stash to use a few things that have been collecting dust.  The cake is created using a Sizzix embossing folder which I inked with CTMH Hollyhock ink, then I cut out layers and popped them up on a second image I embossed.  The hearts are colored with Taffy Smooch and then embossing with Ranger holographic powder.  The ribbon has been calling my name for quite a while from my ribbon collection!  I embossed the background with a Cuttlebug embossing folder as well!

Make sure to head on over and check out what rest of team has created here!  I am also entering this card in the following challenges:

It's New Release Day today and I hope you have enjoyed all the sneak peeks over the last 3 days.  Today we are hosting a blog hop that will be starting at 6am EST and your 1st stop is "Shannon's Sentiments" blog. If you came here from Michelle's blog you are one the right track, if not head back over to
store blog to start hopping.

For my card above I have used images from the "Follow Your Dreams Set" which is just in time for all those graduations coming up.  I chose the inspiration quote above and then paired it with the "Class of 2011" sentiment as well as the diploma image.  I have used the sketch from 4 Crafty Chicks this week as well.  Don't you love that Tiger paper? I picked it up at Archiver's a couple years ago because it just so happens our school uses the MU Tiger.
For this card I have used two images "Floral Frame" and have added a sentiment from the
"Mother's Day"add-on set. I have paper pieced my image and then added some sparkle using my Spica pens.

I hope you will join us tonight for a chat at our CDAC group page at 8pm EST! Also we are having a Special Release Sale, just use sale code: AprRel20 for 20% off -- Good from the 15th thru the 22nd.

It's time for the "Shannon's Sentiments" April release preview day #2!!!

Today we're featuring the Lighthouse, Pier and Floral Frame images along with the Mother's Love Add-On set and the Father's Love Add-On set. The full sets with a blog hop will be starting at 6am EST on April 15th at the "Shannon's Sentiments" blog. We will also be hosting a chat at our CDAC group page at 8pm EST on the 15th as well.

The design team call is still open until the 1st. I hope you'll all apply!!!

We also have a guest designer challenge going on that you'll want to check out and participate in. The deadline to enter is the 18th, so hurry and link up your project.

I am having a FABULOUS time combining the new Shannon's Sentiments images, I love how they compliment each other so nicely.  Today I have used the "floral frame" image and combined it with a sentiment from the "Mother's Day add-on" set.  I have once again paper-pieced the flower image to add layers.  Now I know you cannot see it in my photo because My camera battery is dead and I cannot find where I put the charger, so I had to take this with my phone and lighting is horrible.  So you cannot see the extra detail I added using my spica pens (clear and black) to add a little sparkle to my image!

Check out what some of our other design team members have created using these images.

We'll see you again tomorrow for the last set of previews.

The recipe this week is a great one!

Start with 1 image, Add 2 Patterned Papers, &
Finsh with 3 Embellishments (either 3 in total or 3 different types)

The one thing I love about Shannon's Sentiments is the pairing of images with a saying/sentiment, which I have once again done on my card.  First I combined 3 images to create my scene- chaise lunge with umbrella, sun, and saying using Paint.net I decided to paper piece my image, both the umbrella and cushion/pillow on chair are done this way.  I then used my sponge dauber and CTMH juniper ink to ink edges and soften the area behind the image.  Lots of layers and some more inking to make this wonderful card complete!

Check out what some of our other design team members have created using these images.

Kaboodle Doodles #62

It's all about "cute and cuddly" critters for this week's challenge at Kaboodle Doodles.  Once again we have a wonderful sponsor Digital Delights who is offer a $10 voucher for their store.

Sorry for horrible lighting on my card, but my camera battery was dead so had to use my phone.  When I saw this adorable giraffe I knew I wanted to use him for challenge!  I printed him on CTMH buttercup cardstock and then added some highlights with Copic Y17.  I colored the spots with E29 and then added some brown sparkly fluff to each spot. I also printed the image on white after added the text to image using Paint.net and then added my yellow layers of giraffe.  I used my Cuttlebug folder inked with chestnut roan to create the yellow/brown embossed piece.

I will be entering this in following challenges:

Shannon's Sentiments Challenge #21

It's challenge time again at Shannon's Sentiments and is our hostess this week Kapree and she would like us to an animal on our projects.  I just love this chick image from the Easter Time set, it is so versatile and can be used for all kinds of occasions.  I have done something a little different this week and combined 3 images together.

I started by opening my Paint.net program and inserting the pocket banner from Shout Out set, I then added the next layer which was my chicks.  I resized them and flipped the smaller one, then I added my sentiment (also from Easter Time set). Once I saved my new image together, I inserted it in to a word document and colored the image yellow.  I then changed the color to blue so I could paper piece my chicks, added a little Copic YR04 for beaks.  The paper is new stack my friend Heather got me for my birthday, she got it at Big Lots and it's from G.C.D. Studios.  Some ribbon and a little bling to finish it off!

Now head on over to the blog here to see what rest of team has done! Don't forget to sign up for our customer blog hop on the 22nd, all the details can be found here. We also have a design team call going on. You can find all the details at this post.

Cooking It Up With Katie #56

Isn't Mr' Crab just simple adorable?  He is a FREEBIE over at Digis With Attitude, who just so happens to be our challenge sponsor this week at Cooking It Up With Katie.  Our challenge recipe this week is " monochromatic, die-cuts, and scallops."

I decided to work with my fave color red and found these great Basci Grey papers in my stash.  I used my Stampin' Up border punch to create the small scalloped strip and then added a little ribbon and button.  The image is triple layered using Nesties- Labels Five set. I inked everything using CTMH Cocoa Ink, sentiment is computer generated.  I printed the image, colored it with Copic R46, and then covered it with sparkly fluff.  I outlined all the lines using my Copic multi-liner.
Come join us on the challenge and see what rest of team has created!

It's challenge time again at Shannon's Sentiments and is our hostess this week Cindy and she wouled like to an oval on out projects.  Can you find my oval (s)?  I did something a little different as I wanted to use this sentiment from the Spring Time set, so I created my little flower using ovals.  I punched ovals with my Stampin' Up punch and then folded them in half to create a half flower.  Added button for center and "ta da" we have a flower.  Now head on over to the blog here to see what rest of team has done!
