TSB & Copic Buzz Challenge #26

Now for my projects, I wanted to do something different so I headed out to Splitcoast Stampers for inpiration. I saw these adorable apron recipe holders all over, but couldn't find a template so I pretty much winged it. Then I made another recipe page from rest of my scraps to match. The cute little recipes for Friendship I found here. Papers were from my stash and those adorable images (recipe card and Audrey cooking) are from Tracey over at The Stamping Boutique. It's challenge day over at Squigglefly Challenge Blog and this week we are showcasing Maria's group. Our challenge today was to make a Clean & Simple card using the color blue. I decided to use this fantastic new image called Jump Snowman Jump from Cheryl Alger. What a great image, I just love him with his long arms and legs and so many great sentiments come to mind for this cutie!

For my card I used this new image from Squigglefly's new releases called Valetine Girl created by Robin Willis. I typically do not use alot of pink since I have boys, so I chose that as the color I did not like although I don't think there's a color I don't like. LOL!!!

Show Me Your Glitter Digi Day at SNR Card Universe

Hello Everyone!

It's Tuesday which means another challenge forThe Stamping Boutiqueand this week TSB is sponsoring our own challenge. Now for the challenge: since next week is Martin Luther King Day, I thought we could use the phrase "I have a Dream" as our inspiration this week. The winner of this challenge wll get their choice of 3 images from TSB store, so make sure you upload your projects to SNR group or PCP group.

For my card I have used 2 images- the ticket and AJ the Soldier. I computer generated the text on the ticket using paint program. AJ's uniform is paper pieced and then he is pop dotted up to add some dimension.

Our challenge for today over at Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe Challenge #15 was to use the following ingredients:sketch, a image of a dog(s), and checked paper. I thought this sketch was a little harder for me, but once I got going I think it came together nicely. Image I believe is a Cute Daisie Mae, which was a freebie. New Release Day at Squigglefly

Today is new release day at Squigglefly and wait until you see all the new releases. I got the the pleasure of working with a number of the new release images and was able to get these samples done and have a few more in the works. The first 3 cards are using images for a set of 8 being released and what a fun set, these were created by Chesney Young. The adorable bear image is from Susan Spiller and Shy Bears of course are from Lynne Stansbery. I will post all the details about these cards later as I am off to play with the girls today fro my monthly crop.

Well I stepped away from the C4E design team over holidays due to being so busy, but now I am back and ready play. The Stamping Boutique is gearing up for an exciting 2010 and I am pleased to annouce that I have taken on a new role on the team. Wow long time no blog!!!

Wow what a whirlwind December was for our family. As many of you know, I am a shipper for central time Cards for Soldiers project so I was very busy leading up to December and was able to ship out 20+ flat rate boxes to our troops. How rewarding this was, but I can tell you I am ready to make something other than Christmas cards which I have been making since July. I am very proud to say my gal pal, Sue and I made 2000 cards for our troops and have decided to make Christmas cards all year long to meet our goal.

Also we lost a very special person in our family unexpectedly right before the holiday, hubby's grandma Carolyn. She had been sick on and off for several years and had been in hospital since Thanksgiving. She was so tired of fighting the good fight and decided it was her time to go and went peacefully with all her chidren present-just the way she wanted it. Well our family took this really hard because hubs was the 1st grandson and my oldest is the 1st grandson, so they were very close to her. She was more of a grandma to my kids than a great-grandma and visited about every 6 weeks although living in Nebraska. Now we all have an Angel looking over us!

So now that things have somewhat settled back into normal as you would say, we are gearing up for 2010 and what it has to bring to us. Although our calendar is filling up fast already between basketball and baseball for both boys!

Cards for Soldiers Challenge with a Prize!!!

Some of you may or may not know that I am a shipper for central time zone for the Cards for Soldiers Project through the Cricut message board. Normally we make cards that are blank inside for the soldiers to use to ship home to their families, but this time we are doing something a little different. Currently we are making "Thank You" cards for the soldiers to show our appreciation for all they are doing daily for us.

So now for the challenge, I would like you to make a thank you card or cards
for our soldiers and ship to me. These can be generic thank you cards or holiday/Christmas thank you cards. I will randomly select from those that send me cards 1 person to win the entire set of the 12 Days of Christmas Snowman new releases from The Stamping Boutique that was graciously donated from Tracey at TSB.

OK to be entered in drawing I need to have your cards by December 1st, please make sure to include envelopes with the card(s) you send. Few helpful tips: please do not use glitter as this can get on the soldiers clothing and be seen with night vision goggles. Also please try to use any bulky embellishments. DZ Doodles New Release Day!!!

It's another new release day at DZ Doodles and Diane has once again created some fabulous images. I got the pleasure of working with this cute candy cane image and wanted to do something a little different. The box is a one sheet box, directions can be found on Splitcoast Stampers. I used papers/ribbon from CTMH jingle pack, image is colored with copics. On the inside of my box I put peppermints and the image is like a card.

On the inside it says:

I once knew a gardner who knew how to grow
Bright tasty candies, right out of the snow
I asked him to share his secret with me
And this is what he replied quite readily
To garden in winter is difficult you see
It takes lots of care and a very special seed
I'll give you a couple to grow your own treats
And you'll soon reap a harvest of candy cane treats.

Cards for Soldiers

Many of you may know this but for those that don't know. I am a shipper for the central time zone for the Cards for Soldiers project through the Cricut website. My friend Sue and I had a goal to make 2000 Christmas cards for deployed troops and we are approximately 600 cards from our goal. So at our crop this weekend we designed and cut all the pieces for those cards and got 300 cards fully assembled. These are some of the designs we came up with and completed this weekend.

Be on the lookout as I will be posting a challenge to you all with some blog candy up for grabs- this will be in support of our troops!
